Job Description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Newport to assist with the appointment of an Accommodation Support Officer, on a 4-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay £13.69 - £17.68 per hour

The Accommodation Support Officer role will involve supporting emergency accommodation arrangements, managing administrative and financial processes, liaising with landlords and applicants, responding to customer enquiries and maintaining accurate housing and financial records.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the management and smooth running of temporary accommodation provided by the Council to homeless households.
  • Provide effective and responsive support to clients living in temporary accommodation.
  • Maintain administrative systems relating to the Housing Supply and Regulation Service.
  • Collect, collate and provide management information, statistics and performance data.
  • Act as a point of contact for maintenance support and direction.
  • Assist with the procurement and booking of emergency accommodation.

Qualification:

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above, including Maths and English.

Essentials

  • Strong experience providing administrative and customer-facing support, preferably within housing, homelessness or temporary accommodation services.
  • Experience dealing with members of the public using a broad range of communication methods.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good numeracy skills and ability to work accurately with financial and housing-related information.
  • Confidence and competence using computers, databases and IT systems.

  • You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
  • You should have right to work in U.K
  • This role requires a Basic DBS
