Accessories Picker / Double Center Rider Operator

Location: AB1 Distribution Centre

Shift: Monday to Friday, 5:30 AM – 2:00 PM

Wage: $21.26/hour

Position Summary

Pet Valu's AB1 Distribution Centre is seeking reliable, detail-oriented, and safety-focused individuals to join our team as Accessories Pickers / Double Center Rider Operators. This role is responsible for accurately selecting, transporting, scanning, packing, and preparing accessory products for shipment while maintaining high standards of productivity, quality, and inventory accuracy.

Successful candidates will operate a Double Center Rider, utilize RF scanning technology and our Warehouse Management System (WMS), and follow established Best Methods to ensure safe and efficient order fulfillment. This position plays a critical role in ensuring our stores receive accurate, damage-free orders on time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately pick accessory products to fulfill store orders.
  • Safely operate a Double Center Rider while following all equipment operating procedures.
  • Utilize RF scanners and the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to complete picking transactions.
  • Build safe, secure, and accurate pallets for shipment.
  • Verify product quantities, item numbers, and order accuracy.
  • Pack products according to company standards to ensure safe transportation.
  • Replenish picking locations as required.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through proper scanning and product handling practices.
  • Identify and report damaged product, inventory discrepancies, or safety concerns.
  • Assist with order consolidation, staging, and shipment preparation activities.
  • Adhere to established Best Methods and operating procedures.
  • Support general warehouse duties, housekeeping, and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Previous warehouse picking experience preferred.
  • Experience operating a Double Center Rider is considered an asset.
  • Experience using RF scanners and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to order accuracy.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and safe material handling practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Dependable with excellent attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced distribution environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull products throughout the shift.
  • Ability to safely handle products weighing up to 20 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, reach, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday.
  • Comfortable operating material handling equipment in a busy warehouse environment.
  • Comfortable working around moving equipment and warehouse traffic.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of repetitive picking, packing, and order preparation activities.

  • Maintain reliable attendance and arrive prepared for each scheduled shift.
  • Contribute to a positive, engaged, and team-oriented workplace culture.
