The Service & Team:

Our Service provides comprehensive support from the initial contact and assessment phase, gathering essential information to determine the most appropriate next steps using a solution-focused approach. This includes offering information and advice, signposting individuals to other agencies, and progressing to our reablement services to maximise the person’s ability to remain as independent as possible.

By working within and across our primary care networks, we are identifying the best solutions to ensure individuals remain safe and supported at home. Sharing your knowledge and expertise will help your team members grow, achieve their goals, and collectively deliver better outcomes.

The Role:

Access Therapy Team Lead:

We are looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist to lead the newly formed Access Therapy Team as part of the Access Service for Adult Social Care. The Access Therapy Team Lead will work in close collaboration with the Access Team Lead, working under the leadership of the Service Manager. The Access Therapy Team Lead will be responsible for the Therapy and Sensory workflow through the Access Service. The post holder will be responsible for line management of a Team of OTs and OTAs to ensure that the residents of Cornwall who are requesting therapy or sensory support, are supported as early on in the journey as possible. The post holder will look for opportunities for work flows to be improved to support as swift as possible outcomes. The post holder will also be responsible for contributing to the target of 70% of work ending in no further action via Access, alongside ensuring those who require input from the Locality Therapy Teams are referred on in a timely manner. The post holder will need to develop excellent working relationships with health therapy leads, alongside the ASC Locality Therapy Leads. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the development of a new service, with support provided by the Service Manager as line Manager and will have a dotted line to the Principal Occupational Therapist for practice support and guidance.

This is a public/customer-facing role, where the statutory English language requirement for public sector workers applies.

This position will be subject to a enhanced criminal record disclosure check.

Working Pattern:

37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday

What you’ll need to succeed:

Occupational Therapist qualification and registration essential. Management experience desirable but not essential
