Travel Percentage: NegligibleJOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Access Manager, the Access Specialist assists members by issuing and receiving library materials, locating books and other materials, managing members’ library accounts, issuing library cards, providing information about library accounts and services, assisting with self-service equipment and technology, and assisting with basic collection maintenance.
This position will be assigned to the Del City Library, which is located at 4330 SE 15th Street in Del City, OK  73115.The candidate should be available to work all hours the library is open, including some weekends and evenings. Current need requires availability to work Wednesday from 5:00 to 9:00 pm, Friday from 8:00 to 5:00 pm or 9:00 to 6:00 pm, Saturday from 8:00 to 5:00 pm and a rotating Sunday shift.*

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Education and

Experience:
- High School diploma or GED
- One or more years of customer service experience
HIGHLY PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Experience with an automated circulation system
- Strong desire to work with and help people.
Salary and BenefitsThe hiring salary for this position is $16.46 hourly.  This is a half-time position working 20 hours per week.  This position is not exempt from the federal Fair Labor Standards Act.
The Metropolitan Library System offers the following benefits for half-time employees:
