Accelerator operator 80-100%

In cooperation with the expert groups the section Operation is responsible for the operation off all four accelerators to offer the users ideal conditions for their experiments. For the operations group of HIPA we are looking for an

Your tasks

Your main task is shift work, about 70%, in operating the PSI accelerators (3-shifts / 7-day operation) from the main control room and about 30% other tasks suited to your specific abilities, e.g. programming or beam dynamics simulations. During the shifts you are doing commissioning and optimizing of the accelerators, diagnose and solve problems, and work on machine development and experiments.

Your profile

• Technical apprenticeship or university degree (bachelor or master) in a technical field
• You are an open and communicative person who likes working in a team in an international environment
• Fluid communication skills in German and English
• Experience with shift work and a high interest in professional development
