Why? Griffith brings together exceptional minds like yours from across the globe and from all walks of life. Here, we do incredible work, questioning and challenging, always in the pursuit of excellence.

Join Griffith’s Arts, Education and Law Group and provide high-quality academic administration that underpins great student and staff experiences.

The Academic Support Officer is responsible for providing administrative support, within a designated Program cluster, to ensure effective academic planning and administrative support in relation to course management.

This role works in collaboration with the Program Support Officers, to drive processes and administrative course support to Deputy Heads of School (Learning and Teaching), Program Directors and Advisors, Course Convenors, and academic staff.

As the Academic Support Officer, you will contribute to the overall business improvement initiatives and workplace practice changes in support of innovative and responsive academic administration for the success or our staff, our students, and the greater achievements of the University.

You’ll contribute to process improvements and service innovations that keep our operations responsive and compliant.

Within this role you will:

  • Apply current University policies, practices and standards to deliver accurate advice and compliant outcomes.
  • Contribute to business improvement initiatives and work practice changes.
  • Support program and course review, including data collection and analysis of grade trends, course statistics and enhancement strategies.
  • Contribute to student engagement and retention, across a variety of methods including face to face, emails, calls, etc.
  • Be a member of a supportive, innovative and responsive academic administration team.

About you

The successful candidate will have an Associate Diploma with at least two years’ experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant work experience and/or education/training.

The ideal candidate will display a high level of professional mannerisms to students, colleagues, and academics staff alike. You will also have, but not limited to:

  • The ability to problem solve and communicate solutions to the greater team.
  • A high level of attention-to-detail with sound analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently or within a team environment.
  • Demonstrated high-level organisational and administrative skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective systems, processes and procedures and to prioritise competing demands and deadlines.
