About the Role:
The Academic Specialist - ECE will be a key member of the state academic team in Bhubaneshwar, Odisha. This full-time role focuses on anchoring the design and implementation of early childhood education programs, specifically focusing on Balvatika (age 5-6) and integrating school readiness programs within state instructional designs. The position involves working closely with government stakeholders, academic institutions, and field teams to ensure high-quality program delivery and resource development
Key Responsibilities:
Capacity Building: Facilitate workshops for master trainers and state resource groups, and develop training resources such as videos and handouts for teachers and mentors.
Government Collaboration: Work with state ECE units and academic bodies (such as SCERT and DIETs) on material development, assessments, and system strengthening.
Field Support & Monitoring: Visit schools to observe classrooms, collect data on instructional issues to inform design revisions, and support field teams in demonstration districts.
Documentation: Lead the creation of process notes, case studies, and reflective pieces to capture academic learnings.
Professional Growth: Stay updated on new research and innovative practices in the ECE sector.
Travel: Travel regularly for meetings, training sessions, and field visits.
Essential Qualifications & Skills:
Experience: At least 5 years of relevant experience in curriculum design, teacher training, or academic resource development in ECE or elementary education.
Language Skills: Strong communication skills in English and Hindi (reading, writing, and speaking), with excellent academic writing ability in Hindi.
Technical Proficiency: Competence in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Hindi typing.
Subject Expertise: Deep understanding of ECE and play-based learning approaches.
Regional Knowledge: A strong understanding of Odisha's education system or prior experience in ECE/FLN programs within the state is highly desirable.
