Summary
Performs duties relative to servicing students, faculty, staff, and the general public in carrying out functions of the Registrar’s Office.
Duties and Responsibilities
This job description does not state or imply that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position.  Duties and responsibilities listed are essential job functions and exclude functions which are incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties.
- Assists the university in implementing the statement of purpose.
- Assists the university in implementing the institutional and financial plan.
- Reports to the Registrar and receives general instruction from the Assistant to the Registrar – Degree and Graduation Coordinator.
- Assists with the processes, maintenance, and campus-wide use of the degree evaluation audit process.
- Assists advisors and students with graduation issues.
- Assists with common course substitutions, waivers, and audit course requests.
- Assists with holds and degree applications fees as part of graduation clearance.
- Assists with graduation reports as needed.
- Assists with Junior Audit degree applications.
- Assists with degree posting and diploma file submission to third party vendor.
- Assists with graduation activities, including program, and commencement logistics.
- Knowledge of Registrar's technology (student information system), forms, web site, registration, and routine processes.  Provides backup to the assigned co-worker(s), section, and tasks.
- Prepares and sends correspondence relative to job duties.
- Assists in registration activities.
- Contributes improvement to office practice and processes for more efficiency.
- Performs other job related duties as assigned by the Registrar.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Ability to use common office productivity software, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook), TEAMS, and Machforms.
- Ability to learn WCU's student database system in depth.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written.
- Must have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Must always present a professional and respectful manner when dealing with a variety of situations and people.
- Must understand the relationship between the Registrar's Office functions and their effect on the job functions of other departments.
- Must have the ability to multi-task and complete multiple assignments, work independently, as well as with others, and solve problems.  Must have a high attention to detail and accuracy, and ability to meet deadlines and establish priorities.
- Must be punctual and regular in attendance and able to work required hours.
- Must be able to perform job duties in an on-campus setting.

Physical Demands
- Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting, to use technology to meet current needs.
- Must have vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.
- Must have the ability to sit for extended periods.
- Must have the strength and agility to move files, boxes, and minor equipment.
- Must have the ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds for event setups.
