Department Summary
UNT Health is one of the three higher education institutions within the University of North Texas (UNT) System, alongside UNT at Denton and UNT at Dallas. The UNT System offers high-quality education to residents of the North Texas region, including Fort Worth, Dallas, Denton, and Frisco, as well as students from other states. Named a top-tier medical school for primary care by U.S. News & World Report, Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine (TCOM) is a leader in training physicians skilled in comprehensive primary care and rural medicine. More than 60% of TCOM’s graduates practice primary care medicine, helping reduce the shortage of physicians in our Texas communities.
The Academic Program Manager serves as a key operational leader within the Division of Academic Affairs at the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine (TCOM). This position is responsible for the comprehensive coordination, planning, and implementation of medical education courses and curricular events across the DO program. The Academic Program Manager works collaboratively with the Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, curriculum directors, course directors, section directors, and faculty to ensure seamless delivery of the medical education curriculum.
This is a highly independent role requiring a self-directed, proactive professional who anticipates operational needs, resolves challenges before they escalate, and brings strong organizational and systems-thinking skills to a complex, fast-paced academic medical environment. The Academic Program Manager is expected to lead assigned activities with minimal day-to-day supervision while maintaining clear communication with leadership and faculty stakeholders.
