Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The mission of UCLA Family AIDS Network (UCLAFAN) is to facilitate access to medical care and support services by coordinating a network of culturally and linguistically competent community providers to work collaboratively to meet the needs of women, children, youth, and families living with HIV and AIDS.

Primary responsibility of the Academic Program Management Officer 3 is the fiscal and programmatic oversight of the LAFAN network and the development, design and recommended strategies or activities intended to improve performance in quality and compliance with Ryan White and County of Los Angeles funding requirements. In this high visibility role, the selected candidate will work collaboratively with a wide variety of professionals, key partners, consumers, Network agency staff and other leaders in the community.

This is a contract position that may convert to career.


Salary Range: $86,400.00 – 184,800.00


Job Qualifications

Required:

  • Master’s degree in health administration, public health or public administration with an emphasis on health services or related field and/or equivalent experience and/or training.
  • 3-5 years' experience supervising professional and administrative staff.
  • 5-7 years related work experience in public health, public administration, or health administration.
  • Understanding of comprehensive public health issues, with particular emphasis on special needs populations and HIV/AIDS.
  • Previous experience in the implementation of programs and managing and securing large grants ($500,000 per year).
  • Experience working with the diverse populations affected by HIV/ AIDS
  • Knowledge of Ryan White Title IV funding Required Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and as a team member.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to lead meetings and conference calls.

Preferred:

  • Willing to travel to various sites.
  • Experience in using SPSS, Stata, and/or R for data management and analysis. Excel to develop visualizations, create pivot tables, and conduct analyses.
  • Working with and aggregating/merging multiple data streams. Working with HIV health care or HIV social services delivery.
  • Expertise in statistical analysis, data visualization, database software, and languages, including .SQL, and Microsoft Access.
  • Health care or social services program evaluation experience.
