
SCOPE OF WORK: Provides administrative oversight and coordination of the Accounting program through the development, implementation, evaluation, and advancement of course curriculum and programs, teaching effectiveness, student advisement, academic support systems, and program promotion. This position reports to the Department Chair of Business and Professional Studies at NHTI, Concord’s Community College.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university with a major study in accounting or closely related field
Experience: Five years’ professional experience as an accountant or accounting instructor.
OR
Education: Master’s degree from a recognized college or university with a major study in Education or accounting. A Master’s degree in Education requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
Experience: Four years’ professional experience as an accountant or accounting instructor.
License/Certification: Valid drivers’ license or access to transportation.
Recommended Work Traits: Knowledge of the accounting field as it relates to the course of instruction, teaching methods and materials, and curriculum development, and course/program evaluation. Knowledge of educational standards and procedures. Ability to work with and secure the cooperation of others. Ability to maintain comprehensive records of the progress and development of the individual student. Ability to work effectively with educators and “business” and community people outside the college. Ability to communicate tactfully and effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and as a member of academic department/team. Ability to handle matters with diplomacy and to maintain confidentiality, as appropriate. Ability to exercise professional judgment and proper decision-making. Must be willing to maintain an appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the college.
