The expanding Department of Hospitality, Hotel Management and Tourism at Texas A&M University, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences is seeking one full-time, Academic Professional Track (Non-Tenure) faculty position with a 9-month academic appointment. The anticipated start date for this opportunity is August 1, 2026 with potential for multi-year renewal. Applicants will be considered for the faculty title of Instructional Associate Professor.
Teaching is the primary responsibility of APT faculty (80% teaching, 20% service).
Responsibilities for this position will include teaching courses in hospitality and events. The teaching load will be 6 credit hours in both spring and fall (i.e., two 3-hour courses per long semester). Developing teaching materials for new courses that may include service learning and plans for an experiential learning space are also expected. At first there will not be an expectation to teach in the summer but needs and/or opportunities may change over time. Field trip or study abroad courses, for example, would be a possible summer teaching activity. In addition, demonstrating scholarship of teaching is an expectation of the position and may be accomplished, for example, by professional development in teaching and learning, innovations in pedagogy, publication of instructional materials and publications or presentations on teaching and learning.
Applicants must have a doctoral degree in a closely related to hospitality, hotel management or tourism.
