Assistant or Associate Clinical Professor of School Psychology Position Announcement

The Department of Educational Psychology in the College of Education and Human Development at Texas A&M University invites applications for one Clinical Assistant Professor or Clinical Associate Professor position within the APA-accredited School Psychology Program. This is a full time, nine-month, academic professional track appointment beginning August 2027. We seek a faculty member who has earned a doctorate from an APA-accredited program in School Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, or a closely related field, and who is licensed or license-eligible as a Psychologist in Texas, with credentials appropriate for school-based and clinical practice (e.g., LP, LSSP).

The successful applicant will demonstrate documented effectiveness in college/university teaching, including graduate-level instruction, clinical supervision, and mentoring of graduate students. Applicants should also show evidence of professional service, institutional engagement, and scholarly productivity, including contributions to school districts, community or clinical settings, professional organizations, and research activities with potential for externally funded clinical, personnel-preparation, or outreach initiatives. We seek a colleague whose expertise aligns with the School Psychology Program's instructional, clinical training, mentoring, and service needs, and who is committed to collegiality, collaboration, and student-centered mentorship.

The School Psychology Program is housed in the Department of Educational Psychology (http://epsy.tamu.edu), along with programs in Counseling Psychology (APA-accredited), Special Education, Bilingual/ESL Education, Research, Measurement, and Statistics, and Developmental Sciences. The program maintains strong ties with Texas A&M University's Psychology Department and the School of Public Health. Major Responsibilities

1. Provide clinical supervision for School Psychology and Counseling Psychology doctoral students
2. Work collaboratively with clinic staff
3. Maintain a coherent program of research that will impact child or school psychology
4. Seek external funding to support clinical research, personnel preparation, and/or outreach
5. Provide professional service at state and national levels and institutional service at program, department, and school/college levels
6. Teach and mentor graduate students
7. Work to extend clinical research efforts to underserved populations

Qualifications

1. Must have an earned doctorate (Ph.D.) from an APA-accredited program in School Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, or a related field.
2. Must be licensed or license-eligible as a Psychologist in Texas, with credentials appropriate for school-based and clinical practice (e.g., LP, LSSP).
3. Must demonstrate evidence of effectiveness in college/university teaching, including experience teaching graduate-level coursework, supervising clinical practica, and mentoring graduate students
4. Must demonstrate evidence of professional service, institutional engagement, and scholarly productivity, including contributions to school districts, community or clinical settings, professional organizations, and research activities with potential for externally funded clinical, personnel-preparation, or outreach initiatives.
5. Must demonstrate alignment between the candidate's expertise and the School Psychology Program's instructional, clinical training, mentoring, and service needs along with a commitment to collegiality, collaboration, and student-centered mentorship.

Appointment

Salary and start-up packages are competitive and commensurate with rank, qualifications, and evidence of clinical experience.
