
The Department of Biology in the College of Arts & Sciences, Texas A&M University, invites applications for a full-time, academic professional track (non-tenure) position with a 9-month academic appointment with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2026. Applicants will be considered for the title of Lecturer. This position is teaching-intensive (90%) and includes expectations for service (10%). It is a renewable position with opportunities for advancement, progressing from Lecturer to Senior Lecturer to Principal Lecturer.
The purpose of this position is to provide high-quality biology instruction to undergraduates at the Higher Education Center in McAllen. In particular, the department has needs in its two-course Introductory Biology series, upper-level courses in Integrated Human Anatomy and Physiology, and writing-intensive courses (BIOL 111, 112, 319, 320, 401, 402, 403). Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in biology or a closely related field. To support the Department of Biology’s undergraduate teaching mission, preference will be given to applicants with experience teaching biology at the undergraduate level. Experience teaching lower and upper-level courses using student-centered approaches that promote student success is desirable.
