
The University of Chicago’s Department of Medicine, Section of Cardiology, is seeking full-time faculty members for appointment at any rank to join our nationally recognized adult Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. The appointees will participate in the growth of the Heart and Vascular Institute and have access to state-of-the-art technology and a programmatic approach to revascularization which includes close collaboration with vascular and cardiothoracic surgery. Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) are dependent upon qualifications.
Appointees will share responsibilities across a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, in addition to staffing the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit and providing outpatient clinical care on our main campus, Orland Park, River East and other off sites. Other duties will include training and supervision of trainees and students and scholarly activity.
Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: (1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, (2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the state of Illinois, (3) be Board Certified or Eligible in Cardiology, (4) have completed an ACGME-accredited Interventional Cardiology Fellowship, and (5) be eligible or have passed the Added Qualification Examination in Interventional Cardiology.
We especially welcome applicants with experience and/or training in peripheral vascular intervention, complex coronary revascularization and mechanical circulatory/cardiopulmonary support.
