Job Description

The Division of Neonatology at Connecticut Children’s has an opening for experienced, full-time, Board Certified/Board Eligible neonatologists with an established academic focus in clinical, basic, translational, or educational research. Current areas of interest include inflammation/microbiome, epidemiology/outcomes, AI, neurosciences, and lung development/lung injury. Applicants with other areas of interest are also encouraged to apply. Research support is commensurate with experience and current or potential extramural funding.

Connecticut Children’s has an accredited Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship consisting of three fellows per year. The Division of Neonatology participates in the Children's Hospital Neonatal Consortium (CHNC), a group of 46 Level IV centers across the U.S. and Canada serving to optimize clinical outcomes.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Clinical duties include caring for infants in our NICU’s at Connecticut Children’s in Hartford and John Dempsey Hospital, University of Connecticut in Farmington. Our Level IV at Connecticut Children’s will be expanding into a new-single room tower in early 2027 with an increase in bed capacity to 65. The Hartford unit has full clinical and surgical subspecialty support including cardiac surgery, ECMO, and peritoneal and hemodialysis. Our Connecticut Children’s Level III at John Dempsey Hospital has a bed capacity of 30. Both units are supported by teams which include Neonatologists, Advanced Practitioners, Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellows, Nutritionists, Occupational and Speech Therapists, Pharmacists, Lactation Specialists, and Neonatal Nurses to provide top-level care to our infants and families. A point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) program is being developed which includes training for all faculty.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Education Required: M.D., or D.O. degree required
Active Scholarly Program with publication history is desirable

LICENSE and/or CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

Active CT Physician license
Active DEA
Board eligible or certified in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine as appropriate.
