Job Description

The University of Virginia Department of Neurological Surgery is seeking tenure-eligible PhD neuroscientists with expertise in Cerebrovascular diseases and Brain Injury, such as stroke, aneurysm and vascular malformations, intracerebral hemorrhage and traumatic brain injury in animals and/or humans, to fill multiple Academic Investigator positions.

Responsibilities include:

· Research: Engage in research projects, apply for internal and external grants to support this research, and publish results.

- Education: Support resident education and research. Participate in resident and medical student teaching sessions, and in regional and national presentations.

Qualifications include a MD and/or PhD in neurosciences or related fields and a track record for conducting basic and/or translational research with successful or promising submissions to NIH and other sponsors.

A proven history of publication in peer-reviewed neurological journals is also required.

Salary, rank, and tenure are commensurate with education and experience.
