Job Description

Birmingham Public Schools is seeking an Academic Interventionist and Grant Funded Title 1 Tutor at Beverly and Greenfield Elementary Schools.
This is a 10-month, .8 fte position with each school being .4 fte.


The Intervention Specialist and Title I Tutor positions are a vital member of each school's MTSS and School Improvement Team, dedicated to closing academic gaps and accelerating student growth through targeted intervention in reading and math. This role plays a strategic part in ensuring every student has equitable access to the support they need to succeed. Working in alignment with the district's Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework and in close collaboration with instructional leaders, classroom teachers, and building principals, the interventionist delivers data-informed, evidence-based interventions that are integral to school-wide improvement goals. In addition, this position ensures compliance with Michigan's dyslexia legislation and Title I, 31a, and 31aa funding requirements, supporting the district's commitment to educational equity and excellence.
