Job Description

The Division of Hospital Medicine with Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida is seeking a Board Certified / Board Eligible Internal Medicine to join their team.

Mayo Clinic Florida is a 320-bed academic hospital and destination medical center for oncology, transplant, and stroke care for Northeast Florida, with a strong focus on complex medical care.

Candidates can look forward to joining a dynamic and diverse group of Hospitalists with interests and skills that help support the practice clinically, academically, administratively, and in research. Teamwork, compassion, respect, integrity, innovation, excellence, and healing are some of the values candidates will need to uphold. It is preferred candidates have at least one additional year of training in advance of application (internal medicine chief resident or hospital medicine fellowship trained family medicine) or 1 year of inpatient practice experience.

  • Variable day schedule (7 on- 7 off, 5 on- 5 off). Additional shifts including night coverage and admitter shifts, opportunities in Advanced Care at Home.
  • 16-18 Patient contacts/day
  • 5 Hospitalist services with opportunities to engage with learners at different levels
  • Additional educational opportunities may become available over time
  • Closed ICU managed by dedicated Intensivists
  • Procedural and Point-of-Care Ultrasound skills preferred, but not required
  • Opportunities to contribute and participate in clinical research

Must be board-certified internal medicine and demonstrated scholarly activity within the past three years. Florida licensure/eligibility is also required. Due to the complex nature of the patients, at least one-year post-residency experience is preferred.
