Student will support the Academic Financial Operations Office by assisting the Director and financial analysts with administrative operations, spreadsheet maintenance, data entry, transaction review, and special projects.
Responsibilities
· Assist the AFO team with maintaining financial spreadsheets, entering and reviewing data, analyzing information for accuracy, and researching financial or operational details as requested. · · Assist with preliminary review of financial transactions, including vouchers, purchase orders, and cost transfers in PeopleSoft Finance, under the direction of financial analysts.
· Provide general office support, including scheduling meetings, organizing records, maintaining office supplies, and greeting visitors professionally.
· Proactively ask for assignments, follow up on open tasks, document processes, identify efficiencies, and support financial operations projects as needed.
Required Qualifications
· Ability to work with sensitive financial, personnel, and student-related information while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality.
· Ability to prioritize work, complete tasks efficiently and accurately, ask clarifying questions, and demonstrate a willingness to learn in a busy office environment with frequent interruptions.
· Professional written, email, and in-person communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with students, faculty, staff, visitors, and other university stakeholders.
· Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to maintain calendars, spreadsheets, files, and accurate records.
· Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word; comfort working with spreadsheets is strongly preferred.
· Ability to use standard office equipment and related office technology.
· Strong commitment to customer service, teamwork, and professional office etiquette.
Desired Qualifications
· Interest in developing finance, accounting, budgeting, or financial operations skills.
· Previous office experience desired but not required
· Availability to work 10-15 hours per week between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
· Summer availability is desired but not required
