We are looking for bright, fun, and charismatic educators who are looking for opportunities adjacent to education, but not in a typical classroom setting. Staying Ahead of the Game is the largest academic coaching company in Houston providing support services to families, schools, and therapy centers.
This is an independent contractor position.
Executive Functioning skills are the fuel that takes students where they want to go. Most importantly, they’re not innate and unchangeable; they are teachable! At Staying Ahead of the Game, our mission is to teach these skills to as many students as we can. Executive Functioning skills are a lifelong investment, and we are right by your side for the long haul.
We are an academic coaching and tutoring organization. While we offer subject-specific tutoring and standardized test prep as needed, our unique coaching program focuses on helping students improve their Executive Functioning skills.
We meet students where they are and show them where they can go!
Whether your student needs help building compensatory skills for a learning difference or would benefit from expert direction to perform at his or her highest potential, our academic coaches provide personalized, actionable guidance and accountability.
Our founder and CEO, Evan Weinberger, struggled with ADHD throughout his education. He built SAOTG to provide the expert guidance he needed as a kid. Unlike traditional tutoring services, we provide long-lasting support rather than band-aid solutions. We want students to thrive after we’re gone, so we ensure our coaching services build the foundations of long-term academic independence.
Staying Ahead of the Game coaches and tutors work one-on-one primarily with students from 3rd grade through college to sharpen their Executive Functioning skills. Our one-on-one approach to academic coaching is unique because it focuses on the development of life skills that transcend the classroom. We teach organization, time management, effective learning strategies, and impression management.
