Academic Coach

LaVenture Club | Boys & Girls Clubs of Skagit County

Part-Time (18–24 hrs/week) | $21.65–$22.97 DOE/DOQ

Sometimes the moment learning clicks has nothing to do with a textbook.

It might happen while tackling a STEM challenge, experimenting with a new idea, solving a real-world problem, or finally understanding something that seemed impossible yesterday. We're looking for an Academic Coach who can help create more of those moments for school-age youth at our LaVenture Club.

As an Academic Coach, you'll provide homework support while finding creative ways to make learning engaging and relevant. You'll use hands-on activities, technology, STEM, problem-solving, and other enrichment opportunities to help youth strengthen academic skills while discovering new interests.

Just as importantly, you'll help youth learn how to work through challenges. Instead of simply providing an answer, you'll encourage them to ask questions, try another approach, build confidence, and recognize the progress they're making.

You'll create a positive environment where youth feel comfortable being curious, making mistakes, and continuing to learn. You'll also collaborate with Club staff, families, schools, and community partners to help support student success.

We're looking for someone who brings patience, creativity, and enthusiasm to the work-someone who can meet youth where they are while encouraging them to stretch a little further.
