
The University of Chicago's Department of Medicine, Section of Cardiology, is seeking full-time faculty members at any rank to join an established group of nationally known physicians and surgeons in the Cardiac Arrhythmia Center (Electrophysiology) within the Heart and Vascular Center. Appointees will have clinical responsibilities predominantly at our main campus and at affiliated off-sites if needed. Clinical responsibilities include performing cardiac electrophysiology procedures and doing outpatient cardiology clinic, inpatient service, and consultation. Other duties will include training and supervision of trainees and students and scholarly activity. Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) are dependent upon qualifications.
Cardiac electrophysiology at the University of Chicago has a long tradition of clinical and academic excellence. A full range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures are provided as well as two new state-of-the-art, dedicated clinical electrophysiology laboratories. The program is currently accredited to train up to 3 ACGME-accredited clinical cardiac electrophysiology fellows each year.
Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, and 3) be ABIM Certified in Cardiovascular Disease and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology.
We especially welcome applicants who specialize in therapeutic approaches for atrial and ventricular arrhythmias, device implantations, and lead management. Additionally, we welcome applicants who have experience with outreach patient referral activities.
