
In alignment with the mission of Academic Affairs to ensure academic equity, integrity and quality; the Office of Academic and Community Standards (OACS); the Academic Assistant supports OACS Academic Associates, Academic Sr. Associates, and Academic Specialists in their workflows and in their partnerships with university stakeholders during the intake, acknowledgement, and communications related to learner complaints and policies for which OACS is the operational owner or acts as the university decision-making designee. This includes, but is not limited to university policies related to academic honesty, grade appeals, learner code of conduct, professional ethics and standards, academic standing, and discrimination and harassment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Daily Workflow (may include):
Intake and manage, within Service Level Agreements: Academic policy violation and appeal cases (Academic Integrity and Honesty, Learner Code of Conduct, Professional Standards, Grade Appeals, Learner Grievance, Discrimination, Harassment/Assault); Complaints: Academic, Executive, Third Party; Special Credit Requests; Red Card process; Academic Standing Appeals).
Communication & Evaluation/Assessment:
Identify patterns and actions related to those patterns to assess and improve workflows and OACS communication.
Cross-Functional Work:
Assist research/documentation projects.
Pull documentation for workflow cases (e.g., Academic Integrity and Honesty).
Assist President’s Designee workflow.
Tracking of workflows, feedback to staff on improvement/efficiency, etc.
Other:
Schedule rooms, meetings.
Coordinate projects.
Coordinate workflows for rotation/schedules
Other duties or projects as needed.

Work Experience:
Minimum of 3 years experience in academic administration, advising or transferable experience.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required.
Other:
Must be able to travel occasionally should a business need arise. For most roles travel would not be common. Travel may involve plane, car or metro. In accordance with ADA policies, reasonable accommodations regarding travel limitations can be provided. Travel will be more common for roles such as Account Executives (25 - 50%), senior leaders (10 – 20%) or Capella Core Faculty (5 – 10%).
Ability to work onsite in Corporate or Campus location (in a typical office environment) may be required based on role. If so, this would include being mobile within the office, including movement from floor-to-floor using elevators or stairs.
If offsite or hybrid role, must have access to work in setting which enables meeting all requirements of the role (including privacy, reliable internet access, phone, ability to video conference, etc.) at a remote location.
Faculty and Federal Work Study roles require access to work in setting which enables meeting all requirements of the role (including computer, privacy, reliable internet access, phone, ability to video conference, etc.) at a remote location.

$23.00 - $28.00 is the expected starting pay for this position. This offer is based on current budgetary guidelines and additional factors outlined below.
