About This Opportunity
- Provide holistic academic advising to assigned student populations, including undeclared, probationary, and other designated students.
- Guide students in exploring academic programs, selecting majors, and developing educational plans aligned with their goals.
- Counsel students on curriculum requirements, academic policies, campus resources, and strategies for academic success.
- Serve as a member of the Campus CARE Team and provide appropriate follow-up and referrals for students of concern.
- Advocate for students by connecting them with appropriate campus resources and support services.
- Assist with new student orientation, advising, and registration for incoming first-year students.
- Maintain accurate advising records and documentation using university systems.
- Advise and assist with the registration of non-matriculated students and Daemen's High School program
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree required; one year experience with higher education (academic advising preferred).
- Dedication to student success.
- Will contribute to and support the cultural fluency and diversity of our campus.
- Possess an enthusiastic and positive attitude.
- Maintain confidentiality in a discreet and professional manner.
- Effective and friendly communication skills with a variety of students, staff, faculty, administrators, and parents.
- Proficient computer skills and experience (Google Workspace, Microsoft Word, Excel).
- Proficient at learning new computer skills.
- Highly developed organizational skills.
- Self starter, skilled at and open to exploring ways to improve current systems.
- Multi-tasker.
- Detail and accuracy oriented.
Total Compensation
Daemen University offers a robust total compensation package that includes:
- Health insurance with an option of two plans: an HSA plan with the deductible funded by employer HSA contributions, or a copay plan.
