At Meliá Desert Palm Dubai, our Engineering team plays a vital role in ensuring every guest enjoys a comfortable and seamless stay. From maintaining the resort's climate control systems to responding swiftly to technical issues, our team works behind the scenes to keep our facilities operating safely and efficiently.

We are looking for a skilled and dependable AC Technician to join our Engineering team, maintaining and repairing the resort's heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems while ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and guest comfort.

What will you be doing?

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration systems across the resort.
  • Carry out scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance in accordance with maintenance plans and hotel standards.
  • Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults and perform effective repairs to minimise equipment downtime.
  • Conduct daily inspections of HVAC equipment, record operating readings, and report any abnormalities or maintenance risks.
  • Clean, adjust, and service HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency.
  • Respond promptly and efficiently to emergency maintenance requests.
  • Maintain accurate daily maintenance records, logs, and work completion reports.
  • Ensure all tools, materials, and equipment are used correctly, safely, and stored appropriately after use.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance manuals to complete repairs accurately.
  • Keep the workshop and work areas clean, organised, and compliant with safety standards.
  • Support the hotel's sustainability initiatives by promoting energy-efficient operation of HVAC systems and reducing waste wherever possible.
  • Act as a member of the hotel's Fire Brigade, responding to emergencies and participating in fire drills and safety training.
  • Communicate effectively with the Engineering leadership regarding completed work, outstanding tasks, and equipment requiring further attention.
  • Follow all hotel policies, procedures, health and safety regulations, and any additional duties assigned by Hotel Management.

What are we looking for?

  • Proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking skills.
  • At least 1 year of experience as an AC Technician, HVAC Technician, or in a similar role.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Good understanding of air conditioning, refrigeration, ventilation, and heating systems.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults in HVAC equipment.
  • Proficiency in reading technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance plans.
  • Knowledge of HVAC preventive maintenance practices and safety procedures.
  • Ability to work safely in hot, confined, or physically demanding environments.
  • Physically fit and capable of lifting heavy equipment when required.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Flexible, reliable, and able to respond effectively to operational and emergency maintenance requirements.
