Job Description

The AC/Refrigeration Technician in a hotel is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and ensuring the proper functioning of air conditioning, refrigeration, and cooling systems throughout the establishment. This role is essential for creating a comfortable and functional environment for guests and staff while adhering to energy efficiency and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform regular maintenance tasks on air conditioning, refrigeration, and cooling systems to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency.
2. Diagnose and troubleshoot system malfunctions, identifying and resolving issues promptly to minimize downtime.
3. Install new air conditioning and refrigeration systems in compliance with hotel standards and manufacturer guidelines.
4. Develop and implement a preventive maintenance schedule to prevent breakdowns and extend the lifespan of equipment.
5. Clean and replace air filters, coils, and other components as needed to maintain system efficiency.
6. Regularly inspect and assess the condition of AC and refrigeration units to identify potential problems and address them before they escalate.
7. Handle and manage refrigerants in compliance with environmental regulations, ensuring safe handling and disposal practices.
8. Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repair activities, including work performed, parts used, and system condition.
9. Respond promptly to emergency repair requests, even outside regular working hours, to minimize disruptions and guest discomfort.
10. Adhere to safety protocols and standards while working with electrical and mechanical systems.

Qualifications and Requirements:

1. High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certifications or HVAC training preferred.
2. Proven experience as an AC/Refrigeration Technician, ideally in a hospitality or commercial setting.
3. Strong knowledge of air conditioning and refrigeration systems, including various types of equipment and their components.
4. Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting technical issues.
5. Familiarity with refrigerant handling and disposal regulations.
6. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and blueprints.
7. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
9. Physical stamina and ability to lift and carry heavy equipment.
10. Flexibility to work during irregular hours and respond to emergency calls.
