Job Title: ABS Lead
The ABS Lead helps direct and support a team of ABS Checkers responsible for accounting, verifying, and tracking produced material throughout the production and shipping process. This role ensures material accuracy from the shop floor to customer delivery, while leading the team, upholding company standards, and serving as the primary point of contact between the ABS department and management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Leads ABS Checkers; hold team accountable for safety, quality, and production standards.
· Verify material loaded onto trucks for accuracy prior to customer shipment.
· Utilize the ABS program to create trucks, bundle material, and train team members on its use.
· Monitor production activity through camera systems to track and verify produced material.
· Troubleshoot missing material and lead root-cause analysis to resolve discrepancies.
· Oversee verification of Galvanized material before and after shipment to and from the Galvanizing plant.
· Coordinate with customer service, shipping, and other departments on tracking and production questions.
· Print and distribute the daily loading schedule; follow up on incomplete reconciliations.
· Participate in team meetings to help communicate department goals, best practices, daily priorities, and ongoing expectations.
· Assist with training and answering questions for team members; communicate concerns, issues, or additional support needs to management
· Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area; enforce compliance with company policies.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Prior experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or a related industrial environment preferred.
· Previous supervisory or team lead experience preferred.
· Must be in good standing with the company, with a demonstrated positive attendance record and professional conduct.
Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to lift 75 lbs., bend, squat, kneel, sit, and/or stand for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodation.
· Visual acuity required for close and distance work, including monitoring camera systems and verifying material.
· Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
