Job Description

Salary: Up to $45,128 per annum plus super (Remuneration stated is for the full-time position)

Work type: Temporary Full-time

Program Duration: 12 months

Commencing: February 2027

Are you an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person who loves storytelling, learning, and connecting with community?

Brisbane City Council’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Traineeship Pathway Program is offering a Certificate III in Customer Engagement to help you build a career in libraries and community spaces.

This traineeship will be based across two welcoming locations - Annerley and Stones Corner Libraries- where you’ll help create inclusive spaces that support literacy, learning, and community connection.

  • Identifies as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
  • Passionate about libraries, learning, and supporting community
  • Reliable, motivated, and open to learning new skills
  • Committed to completing training modules throughout the year
  • Able to travel across Brisbane (some library locations may not be serviced by public transport)

Location:

Opportunities are available across a number of Brisbane City Council library locations, including Brisbane Square Library (Brisbane City) and Toowong Library. Successful applicants will be advised of their placement location during the recruitment process and provided with support throughout their traineeship.
