JOB ID: 4808 - ABE Teacher - Healthcare Careers - Part-time, temporary position beginning on or about 10/18/2026 for approximately 5 weeks.
Location: Northfield Community Education Center
Scheduled Hours/Days: 2.5 hrs/day (2 hr class + 0.5 hr prep + curriculum development), 2 days/wk
Qualifications:
- Current Minnesota K-12 teaching license
- Experience working with adult English language learners
- Strong instructional, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability and willingness to become familiar with Minnesota Certified Nurse Aide training, testing, and registry requirements and help students understand the process
- Commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for adult students from diverse backgrounds
Pay Rate/Range: 2026-2027 NEA Agreement BA-$57,681 - MA40-$95,320. Base pay DOQ.
Compensation/Benefits/Perks: This position is not eligible for benefits.

Responsibilities:
- Plan and teach approximately 5 week Pre-CNA course to help adult English language learners build the language, knowledge, and skills needed to pass the CNA test
- Use, develop, and adapt existing Pre-CNA curriculum to meet student needs - Support development of healthcare-related vocabulary, reading, communication, and academic skills
- Help students understand Minnesota CNA training, testing, and registry requirements and identify next steps
- Monitor student progress and provide individualized support for success in CNA training
