Are you passionate about basketball and love working with kids? Join our team as a Youth Basketball Coach for the Fall 2025 season! We are looking for energetic, reliable, and positive individuals to help teach the fundamentals of basketball in a fun and engaging environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop fundamental basketball skills and game understanding to prepare players for competition

• Foster a positive, disciplined, and respectful team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship and teamwork

• Design and execute organized, efficient, and purposeful practices that address individual and team needs

• Develop and implement effective game plans while making in-game adjustments to support player growth and team performance

• Supervise player behavior and conduct, ensuring a safe environment during practices, games, and travel

• Coordinate with the director - player development to align systems, terminology, and expectations

• Serve as a positive role model, encouraging personal growth, accountability, and a strong work ethic both on and off the court

• Maintain clear and respectful communication with players, parents, coaching staff, program directors

• Work closely with Head Coach to follow structure set in place, to ensure player safety and positive environment for all

Other Duties and Responsibilities

• Attend various coaches meetings, trainings, and other events as scheduled

• Embody the Asphalt Green mission and values

• Support and follow program policies and procedures

Qualifications

Experience

• Deep understanding of basketball fundamentals, rules, and regulations

• Ability to develop game plans and adjust strategies during games

• Experience with player development and skill progression

• Must have played basketball at a competitive level (club, high school, collegiate or professional).

• Prior coaching experience at the club, high school, or collegiate level is required.

Team Practices

• Two weekday evenings

• One weekday afternoon

• Select weekends (October-March) (March-June), Tournament

Compensation:

• Part time

• Stipend: $2,550 (This stipend covers the full period; starting after or finishing before may affect the total amount)

• Season runs Mid- September – March

• Will become USA coaching certified upon hire ( paid for by Asphalt Green)
