Job Category: ConsultantBlueForce Inc. is seeking Region and Culture Instructors in support of the United States Air Force Expeditionary Center at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, NJ.
Regions include: CENTCOM, AFRICOM/EUCOM, SOUTHCOM/NORTHCOM, and PACOM.
*Position is subject to contract award*
Specific Duties:
- Shall provide Region and Culture (general region or specifically focused) instruction and evaluations to students.
- Develop country (or sub-country) lessons and instruction.
- Shall teach subjects such as, but not limited to Interpreter Application, Counterpart Relations and Rapport, Regional/Country Orientation, Cultural Awareness, Country Overviews, Religious Familiarization, Partner Nation Social Skills, regionally focused Public Affairs and Media Relations, Organizational Cultural Competence, etc.
- Liaison with functional community’s subject matter experts, including US Air Force Culture and Language Center (CLC), Air Force Geographic Component Commands, and other functional commands, HAF, MAJCOMs, C-NAFs, Air National Guard (ANG) country teams, other services, as well as other organizations to ensure curriculum remains relevant and current.
General Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Meet minimum USAF EOS Student and Qualified Instructor requirements at government expense and IAW EOS-established policy and contract.
- Serve as the focal point and SME in their respective discipline. When qualified, be prepared to assist and teach lessons in other disciplines as determined by the Site Manager.
- Provide technical support, planning, consultation, analysis and expert advice to establish, maintain, and improve their respective areas’ instruction.
- Develop, update, revise, and deliver their respective area’s curriculum and courseware within USAF EOS-established policy.
- Ensure the most current student education and training materials are used and are provided to each student at the beginning of each lesson, as required.
- Produce, assemble, and manage student materials as required to include paper and/or electronic (DVDs, etc.) based training materials provided by the Government.
- Prepare classroom for instruction and ensure academic equipment, projectors, televisions, computer learning stations, etc., including uploading of computer-based training, if applicable, are functional.
- Begin each lesson on time and teach for the prescribed amount of time IAW the student schedule unless the COR authorizes a schedule deviation.
- Perform instruction/demonstration and student evaluations as required by the syllabi and lesson plan. Maintain satisfactory or above on Government administered instructor evaluations.
- Review learning objectives with students in preparation for examinations.
- Follows USAF EOS-established policy for make-up/remedial instruction for missed classes or failed examinations.
- Attend meetings, conferences, and symposiums on topics related to their area of expertise and participate in instructor professional development.
- Be prepared to teach lessons as directed by the Site Manager to balance instructor workload and to meet mission requirements.
Qualifications
- Shall have a master’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university related to International Studies of a specific country or region. (Specific countries and regions are to be determined).
- Shall have deployed as a Military Advisor, Political-Military (Pol-Mil) Affairs Strategists (PAS) Officer, Regional Affairs Strategists (RAS) Officer, Foreign Area Officer (FAO), Foreign Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT) member, attaché or security assistance officer (SCO), or in a position equivalent to one of the above having military advisory experience.
- Shall have experience working with partner nation counterparts in the theater of operations for specific countries or regions. (Specific countries and regions are to be determined).
- Must be able to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance.
