
Social Security Scotland are looking for four colleagues to join our Recoveries Team as Recoveries Officers. We are looking for a number of Recoveries Officers to join our Payment Recovery Team, which is part of the Benefit Expenditure and Debt Finance branch. These roles offer a supportive working environment and great career progression opportunities, whether you’re applying for a promotion or a lateral move.
As a Recoveries Officer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring Social Security Scotland upholds our values of dignity, fairness and respect while managing overpayments. This will include engaging daily with clients by telephone to negotiate affordable, sustainable repayment plans, considering the individual circumstances of each of our clients, and ensuring the receipt and recording of overpayment referrals by telephone, email or in writing.

Working pattern
Our standard hours are 35 hours per week and we offer a range of flexible working options, depending on the needs of the role. We embrace a hybrid working style where all colleagues will spend time in either our Glasgow or Dundee offices. There is an expectation of a minimum 2 days per week in your assigned location, which will be either Glasgow or Dundee. This role is only available to existing permanent civil servants who have successfully completed their probation period within Social Security Scotland, or the broader Scottish Government.
