As the Director of A4 LaserJet Product Delivery, you will be charged with operational success, strategic alignment and drive goals across functional groups to ensure predictable and on-time delivery of products to the market. You have exceptional skills in a strong broad-based leadership background with specialized, proven experience in managing a product delivery environment. The Director of A4 LaserJet Product Delivery will report directly to the OPS Product Development Head.
Specific Job Responsibilities
The R&D Leader will have end-to-end product development responsibilities for the A4 LaserJet products targeted for the Enterprise and Small & Medium Business markets. This includes the delivery of the Product HW and Accessories and partnering with other HP organizations to deliver the Embedded Fleet FW, SW & Cloud Solutions, Partner Management Solutions, Configure to Order enablement, Product/Management/Service Experience, Quality and the delivery with the necessary cost structure and IFS2 & IFS3 profitability. As part of the organization, the PMO and launch teams will be reporting to this leader.
This leader will be critical in partnering across the broader HP print ecosystem to help develop a clear, FoW value proposition that takes our superior HW and enlarges it with a rich set of business solutions. On top of that, a balanced cost-sensitive approach combined with technological innovation is required to meet the customers’ expectations in SMB and Enterprise markets.
This leader will be the key interface and focal point with the Canon development lab in Kawasaki and Susono, Japan, leading the technology and vintage chart joint roadmaps and holding the end-to-end responsibility for product delivery including HW, assets, experience, and solutions.
This leader will also host the Current Product Engineering team and will be directly responsible for the horizontal service of HW Testing, Regulatory & Safety, Material Science Lab and Site Model Shop
General Job Responsibilities
• Provides direct and ongoing strategic leadership to multiple subordinate managers and high-level individual contributors designing and developing engineering solutions for products, systems, software, and solutions.
• Creates strategic and tactical operations and resource plans, goals, and priorities for assigned organization based on business and technology roadmap and functional objectives.
• Manages headcount, deliverables, schedules, and costs for the organization, ensuring that resources are appropriately allocated.
• Ensures goals, timelines, and budgets are met in accordance with organizational metrics and business plans.
• Coordinates with cross-department leaders to ensure delivery of business goals and create tight cooperation and coordination between matrixed teams.
• Engages with program managers, marketing, supply chain, technical executives to communicate program status, escalate issues, and guide and influence strategic decision-making.
•Manages headcount, deliverables, schedules, and costs for the organization, ensuring that resources are appropriately allocated, and that goals, objectives, timelines, and budgets are met in accordance with organizational metrics and business plans
• Manages senior relationships and escalated issues with outsourced partners and suppliers, including setting expectations regarding deliverables, product quality, schedules, and costs; ensures that organization is effectively leveraging outsourced resources.
• Identifies opportunities for and drives organizational initiatives and programs to support business process improvements and cost reductions.
• Provides overall people-care management for direct reports, including hiring, setting and monitoring of annual performance plans, coaching, and career development; drives and fosters organization-wide performance standards, expectations, and practices to support ongoing team member and process development
• Lead the team to further expand their expertise and continue their personal and professional growth while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Provides overall people-care management for direct reports, including hiring, setting and monitoring of annual performance plans, coaching, and career development.
• Drives and fosters organization-wide performance standards, expectations, and practices to support ongoing team member and process development.
Education & Experience Recommended
• Four-year or Graduate Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
• Typically has 15+ years of job-related and/or management experience, preferably in engineering design, engineering design tools and software packages, or a related field.
