AeroTECs AC & Test Site Ops Department provides operational and facility requirements to support Fabrication, Aircraft Maintenance, Quality, Flight Test Instrumentation Installation & removal, and site safety (EH&S/SMS). The AC & Test Site Ops Division is responsible for providing resources and facilities for aircraft maintenance, quality, manufacturing, instrumentation installation and equipment to support customer requirements

The A & P Mechanic position is responsible for servicing, repairing, troubleshooting of aircraft and aircraft engines. This includes replacing and rebuilding aircraft structures and systems as well as assembling and installing electrical, plumbing, mechanical, hydraulic, structural components and accessories. A & P Mechanic must understand FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) regulations and technical data relevant to assigned projects.

Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

  • Service, repair, troubleshoot and overhaul aircraft and aircraft engines.
  • Repair, replace and rebuild aircraft structures, system and functional components.
  • Assemble and install electrical, plumbing, mechanical, hydraulic, structural components and accessories using hand tools and power tools.
  • Adjust, align and calibrate aircraft systems using hand tools, gauges and test equipment, machines and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brakes, welding equipment, rivet gun and drills.
  • Research and understand FAA technical data relevant to assigned tasks.
  • Maintain the premises and the repair station in a clean and organized manner.
  • Remove and/or install aircraft components, test IAW MM, and troubleshoot aircraft systems.



Qualifications

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge in FAA regulations, Aviation Rules (FODs, Safety, Quality, hazardous materials, Aircraft Marshalling), aerodynamics, aircraft electrical systems, materials science, aircraft maintenance, electrical testing, instrumentation, gas turbine and piston power plants.

Level Requirements (Minimum):

Education

  • Associates Degree (or Technical School equivalent) in Aircraft Maintenance or related field from an FAA accredited school or equivalent experience.
  • A & P License required.
  • Must purchase or own tools required to perform job duties.

Experience

  • 3+ years of aircraft A&P experience.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and/or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Must have the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
  • The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • No travel required.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, Lawful Permanent Resident, Refugee, or Asylee.
