Senior Fullstack Developer (React/Python/AI Agents/GCP) | Contractor LATAM

About the Role

We are collaborating with a fast-growing Fintech that facilitates cross-border payments and remittances in Latin America, utilizing WhatsApp as a key product channel. The company is scaling rapidly and investing in two strategic fronts: product innovation and AI applied to internal operations.

As a Senior Fullstack Developer, you will build secure and scalable user experiences, backend services, and AI-driven initiatives involving agent systems, data integrations, and enterprise automation. This is an ideal opportunity for an engineer who enjoys building at a fast pace while maintaining high engineering standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop responsive, secure, and user-friendly interfaces using React and TypeScript.
• Build complex onboarding flows and account management systems to handle sensitive user identity data and PII.
• Implement modern authentication flows, including social login and identity patterns (OAuth2, OIDC, JWT).
• Design and develop robust backend services and REST APIs using Python, ideally with FastAPI.
• Integrate frontend components with backend APIs, authentication services, and third-party identity systems.
• Design and manage relational database schemas (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or CloudSQL) ensuring data integrity.
• Contribute to AI Enterprise initiatives, including internal agents, automation workflows, RAG-style data retrieval, and API-driven tool integrations.
• Connect AI agents and internal tools with various data sources through secure APIs, filtering, and validation logic.
• Implement monitoring, logging, auditing, and evaluation mechanisms for production workflows.
• Collaborate with backend, product, UX, and AI engineering teams to ensure technical alignment and business impact.

Requirements

Must-Have

• Senior-level experience with React and TypeScript.
• Solid backend experience with Python, ideally using FastAPI or similar frameworks.
• Proven track record building and consuming REST APIs
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or CloudSQL).
• Proficiency in cloud environments, specifically Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Practical knowledge of Docker and CI/CD pipelines
• Deep understanding of security best practices for handling PII and financial data.
• Strong ownership mindset and the ability to operate autonomously in dynamic environments.
• Advanced English communication skills for collaboration with remote, multidisciplinary teams.

Nice-to-Have

• Experience in Fintech, payments, fraud, compliance, or identity platforms.
• Hands-on experience with GCP services (Cloud Run, CloudSQL, IAM, Secret Manager, Pub/Sub).
• Exposure to AI agents, LLM workflows, RAG, orchestration, or automation tools.
• Familiarity with vector databases, embeddings, or tools like Pinecone.
• Experience with testing frameworks such as Cypress or Playwright.
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures (Pub/Sub, Kafka) and Terraform (IaC).
