The Position

Genentech USA, Inc. seeks a Business Engagement Manager at its South San Francisco, California location.

Duties: Within global pharmaceutical and medical diagnostics pharmaceutical company, represent the company’s product portfolio and play a vital role in connecting with customers, including large provider institutions, as well as internal stakeholders like senior leadership and squads. Leverage expertise in account and contract management to lead and influence customers, develop and administer provider contracts, and identify partner‐ship opportunities. Collaborate with the Director, Healthcare Market to ensure appropriate contract terms and compliance. Represent current and potential future contracted products within the designated ecosystem.

Education and Experience Requirement: Requires a Master’s degree, or foreign degree equivalent, in Business Administration or closely related field and 3 years of experience in consulting, biotechnology, Business Consultant, Biotechnology Consultant, or closely related position.

Specials Skills Requirement: 3 years of experience must include:

  • Pharma/Biotech value/supply chain and the role of patents & regulatory framework.

  • Understanding of the US Healthcare system including the reimbursement framework.

  • Understanding of pricing analytics and economic models.

  • Developing competitive frameworks that evaluate clinical differentiation and non-clinical attributes.

  • Cross-functional collaboration in high complex corporate environments

Telecommuting allowed up to 5 days per week.

  • Play a vital role in connecting with customers, including large provider institutions, as well as internal stakeholders like senior leadership and squads.

  • Identifying and addressing barriers to product access and utilization, collaborating with internal teams to develop value propositions that resonate with financial decision-makers, and facilitating educational initiatives to increase awareness of Genentech's product benefits. Analyze data on customer demographics, preferences, and needs. Measure the effectiveness of marketing efforts and communications strategies.

For this role, the employee would be responsible for customers in a certain geographic area (currently Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Maine, and New Hampshire) working alongside account managers. The employee would work under oversight from a direct manager and consult with a direct manager and other ecosystem partners as part of the decision-making process for this job duty.

The expected annual salary range for this position based on the primary location for this role of South San Francisco, California is $192,610 to $294,600 per year. Actual pay within the range will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position is eligible to earn incentive compensation that is calculated and paid in accordance with the applicable Incentive Compensation Plan for the role.
