Your Specific Responsibilities:
This position serves as a Local Veterans’ Employment Representative (LVER) responsible for assisting with the development of the service delivery strategies for veterans and educating partner staff with current employment initiatives and programs for veterans. This position confers with the supervisor to assist in identifying improvement processes and develop solutions for the Job for Veterans State Grant (JVSG) program.
Performs duties outlined in Title 38 of the United States Code (U.S.C.), 4104(b)(1)(2), as amended by Public Law 100-323. The incumbent will assure that the local office is in compliance with Federal Regulations, standards of performance and contractual provisions of the grant agreement mandating special services for Veterans. The following duties are included in this code:
CFDA – 100% – 17.804 (Local Veterans’ Employment Representative Program)

As a condition of pre-employment eligibility, a Level 2 security background screening is required, which consists of fingerprinting and a check of local, state, and national law enforcement records.

This position confers with center supervisors by assisting in identifying improvement processes and developing solutions for the Job for Veterans State Grant (JVSG) program, etc. Provide veterans with an orientation workshop, job search workshops and networking workshops.

The incumbent will assure the local office is compliant with Federal Regulations, standards of performance, and contractual provisions of the grant agreement mandating special services for Veterans. You will assist in helping veterans and eligible spouses obtain wages to be sufficient and sustainable through training and employment. The LVER Government Operations Consultant II is a member of the Florida Commerce team with CareerSource Southwest Florida.
The Local Veteran Employment Representative (LVER) Government Operations Consultant II will work with Business Services to serve veterans that have been deemed work ready. The LVER will serve as an “advocate” when speaking with employers on behalf of a veteran. The veteran must have been case conferenced to the LVER for employment advocating.
