Job Description
The Seventh Judicial District is hiring a full-time IT Infrastructure Engineer.
This position will provide technical and customer service support for district courtroom and office workstations, mobile devices, network infrastructure, AV infrastructure and district production servers both remotely and on-site. Work includes hardware and software installations, upgrades, and support. Identify, troubleshoot, and correct problems with hardware, software, and components as well as review, prioritize, and promptly respond to service desk tickets regarding technical issues and problems, answer user questions, and train users in the use of applications and computer equipment. Provide courtroom AV support as necessary or as assigned. Track, document, organize, locate and inventory IT assets per Branch financial policies. Work-based travel is required to perform these duties in some cases.
Example of duties:

• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve IT Service Desk tickets, AV systems, telephone calls, and support request emails while maintaining a high standard of customer service; on-site support with significant travel commitments.
• Install, maintain, upgrade, configure, monitor, patch, and secure District IT equipment.
• Consult and collaborate with local, district, state, and other court customers on technology innovation and improvement projects.
• Provide personalized training on courtroom and office technology hardware, software, and AV systems, both in person and remotely.
• Deploy, manage, and inventory standard workstations, software applications, storage and backup systems, and server configurations; create documentation and manage identity and access.
• Track, document, organize, locate, and inventory IT assets per Branch financial policies.
Typical Qualifications:
Minimum Qualification
- Valid Driver's license and reliable transportation as travel to Seventh District locations is required
- High School Diploma required; a 2-year college degree in a technology-related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of IT experience.
- Knowledge of network troubleshooting, hardware and software troubleshooting, and ticketing system experience; strong customer service skills required.
Preferred Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Scripting and task automation skills.
- Intermediate computer networking concepts.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Cybersecurity training or awareness.
- Experience with centralized computer management tools (e.g., SCCM).
- IT industry recognized credentials or certifications.
Logistics:
Work will be performed throughout the Seventh Judicial District and travel to court locations will be required. Work will be conducted remotely and on-site, as business needs require. When working remotely, access to reliable internet connection is required. Typical hours for this position are 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday.
Supplemental Information:
- Successful candidate will be required to pass a criminal background check.
- Current judicial branch employees must have satisfactory performance and no documented disciplinary action in the preceding 6 months.
