Job Description

The company is a global provider of mechanical solutions specializing in various manufacturing processes, including metal stamping, metal fabrication, injection molding, and high-level assembly. With a significant presence in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, the company operates in a facility that spans approximately 400,000 square feet.     • Sourcing Suppliers: Research and identify potential suppliers/vendors. Obtain price quotations and negotiate terms and conditions. Maintain a comprehensive supplier database.
    • Purchase Order Management: Assist in the creation and processing of purchase orders. Review purchase orders for accuracy and completeness. Track and monitor order status to ensure timely delivery.
    • Vendor Communication: Liaise with suppliers to resolve order discrepancies or issues. Communicate delivery schedules and expectations to suppliers. Maintain positive relationships with vendors.
    • Inventory Control: Monitor and update inventory levels to avoid stockouts. Assist in conducting regular stock counts and reconciliation. Coordinate with relevant departments to manage surplus or obsolete inventory.
    • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders and contracts.Organize and file procurement documents for easy retrieval. Prepare reports and summaries as needed.

Job Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
    • Proven experience as a procurement assistant or in a similar role is a plus.
    • Familiarity with procurement software and tools is an advantage.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
    • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
    • Knowledge of procurement regulations and best practices is preferred.
