Job Description

About This Opportunity

Judit Inc. is hiring on behalf of one of our largest clients — a global technology leader in consumer electronics, semiconductors, and mobile communications. This is a temporary, contract position: you'll be employed by Judit Inc. and work directly alongside our client's team.

The description below is our client's overview of the background, skills, and experience they're looking for. If you meet most — but not all — of these, we still want to hear from you. Your Judit recruiter will walk you through the day-to-day work, schedule, pay, and contract length before anything moves forward.

What you'll do

You'll test how mobile devices perform on live 4G LTE and 5G networks, spending most of your time in the field running drive tests and the rest in the office analyzing what you found. You'll build and run test plans, dig into device logs and protocol messages, and help make sure devices meet quality and wireless carrier requirements.

  • Develop and execute test strategies and plans that validate user equipment (UE) functionality on 4G/5G air interface and call processing technology
  • Perform detailed analysis of 4G and 5G protocols, including field testing with mobile handsets on live networks
  • Run field and mobility drive test cases for development and maintenance release projects
  • Prepare devices for field testing (software, test tools, and setup), and create or revise test routes as network features change
  • Make sure devices meet quality assurance and carrier requirements
  • Analyze customer requirements, translate them into system requirements, and capture detailed design for the development team
  • Support performance analysis of products and features, and evaluate new products and software releases
  • Analyze and troubleshoot issues reported from customer labs, field sites, and the production network
  • Evaluate and trend key performance indicators (KPIs), run trials, and recommend improvements and optimization guidelines for device performance
  • Log defects in the product lifecycle management (PLM) system, report detailed field test results daily, and flag risk items based on issues found during testing
  • Set up test plans that meet deadlines based on requests from the project lead

What you'll bring

  • 0–3 years of experience
  • Strong knowledge of 4G and 5G air interface, call processing technologies, and network architecture, focused on the Radio Access Network (RAN)
  • Solid understanding of end-to-end LTE and 5G network architecture
  • Good knowledge of 5G non-standalone (NSA) and standalone (SA)
  • Background in quality assurance, 5G technology, and RF engineering
  • Verbal and written communication, problem-solving, customer service, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own time

Nice to have

  • Associate's degree or higher in a technical field
  • Experience with UE log post-processing tools (QXDM, QCAT, Wireshark, ShannonDM) and a good understanding of over-the-air (OTA) signaling messages
  • Ability to analyze and debug IMS features, including registration, VoLTE, VoWiFi, ViLTE, conferencing, SMS, MMS, and RCS
  • Experience post-processing UE logs and analyzing KPIs
  • LTE and 5G NR field test experience on a live network
  • Test experience with 5G SA, NSA, and non-terrestrial networks (NTN), including carrier field test plans (e.g., Verizon DFIT, AT&T AVDFT, T-Mobile F4L)

Work details

  • Based in Plano, TX
  • Mobile work environment: about 80% in a vehicle or in the field, 20% in the office, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Travel up to 25%
  • 12-month contract
