Reports to: Principal

Job Type: Full-Time

St. Thomas the Apostle School is currently seeking a 4th Grade Classroom Teacher to inspire and educate students in faith and academics. About the Role

  • The Teacher provides engaging and effective instruction in accordance with Catholic values and academic standards. This role supports our mission of growing disciples by fostering a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that cultivates intellectual, spiritual, and emotional development.

What You Will Do

  • Instruction: Plan and deliver dynamic lessons that meet curriculum guidelines and address the needs of diverse learners.
  • Faith Integration: Incorporate Catholic teachings and values into daily instruction and activities.
  • Student Engagement: Foster a positive and respectful classroom culture where students feel safe, supported, and motivated to achieve their best.
  • Assessment: Evaluate and monitor student progress through various assessment tools and provide feedback to guide learning.
  • Collaboration: Work with fellow teachers, parents, and administration to ensure student success and community building.
  • Professional Development: Stay current with educational best practices and participate in ongoing training to enhance teaching skills.

Additional Duties

Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

Equipment

Uses standard office equipment such as personal computers, printer, copy machine, and telephone. Able to use Google Classroom and other digital platforms.

Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee must frequently move, stand, and lift up to 10 pounds, as well as be able to walk up and down steps several times each day and physically respond quickly in an emergency.

What You Need

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education
  • State teaching certification
  • Commitment to Catholic values and the mission of Catholic education
  • Strong classroom management and instructional skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

FLSA Status: Exempt
