The Inventory Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate, real-time inventory levels across RTE, AG, GMP, and warehouse materials while ensuring materials integrity throughout the plant. This role supports transaction accuracy within IFS, enforces FIFO procedures, conducts structured cycle counts, manages retained materials through MRB, supports purchasing and reporting functions and supports Raw when needed.

The Inventory Specialist plays a critical role in protecting financial accuracy, supporting procurement processes, ensuring audit readiness, and driving continuous inventory and material control improvements.

Inventory Control & Accuracy
• Maintain accurate inventory levels across all direct and non-direct materials.
• Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and year-end cycle counts and physical inventories.
• Reconcile physical counts to IFS system balances.
• Maintain ≥98% inventory accuracy.
• Investigate, document, and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly.
• Perform inventory adjustments in IFS for spices, casings, labels, film, cases, clips, GMP materials, and miscellaneous items.
• Develop and maintain structured cycle count systems for weekly and monthly inventory verification.
• Count GMP items ordered by procurement.

Transaction Integrity & System Management
• Ensure all inventory transactions are entered accurately and in real time in IFS and/or Novacura.
• Validate scrap, transfers, adjustments, manual entries, and dump dispositions (with management approval).
• Perform scrap transactions once approved.
• Receive purchased materials in IFS.
• File and upload incoming receiving documentation into IFS.
• Assist with month-end and year-end reconciliation.

FIFO, MRB & Material Integrity
• Enforce First-In, First-Out (FIFO) procedures.
• Monitor material aging, shelf-life, and expiration.
• Maintain retained materials (film, zipper, spices, casings, clips, and other direct materials) utilizing the MRB system in IFS.
• Assist with entering MRBs in IFS.
• Coordinate material disposition processes in partnership with leadership.

Warehouse & Material Control
• Improve and maintain warehouse organization and labeling standards.
• Maintain clear identification of rework and GMP materials.
• Track CHEP pallets and general pallet inventories.
• Monitor empty tote balances and material flow accuracy.
• Support audit readiness and QA material traceability requirements.

Reporting & Communication
• Generate daily, weekly, and monthly inventory and AG reports (clips, loops, boxes, zippers, film, labels, glue, tape, etc.).
• Track scrap trends, usage discrepancies, and adjustment patterns.
• Monitor inventory turns and slow-moving materials.
• Communicate consistently with supervisors and managers to resolve discrepancies quickly.

Qualifications
• High school diploma required; associate degree preferred.
• Experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, materials management, or procurement support preferred.
• Strong computer literacy required.
• ERP experience required; IFS experience preferred.
• Experience with Novacura preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently.

Physical Requirements
• Must be able to stand and/or walk for extended periods (up to 8–12 hours per shift), primarily on concrete surfaces
• Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, kneeling, and reaching throughout the shift
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly; occasional lifting or assisted lifting of heavier loads (up to 75–100 lbs)
• Frequent pushing and pulling of materials using appropriate equipment
• Ability to work in a variety of environments, including:
• Temperature ranges from approximately -15°F to 120°F
• Refrigerated areas (30–40°F)
• Wet or humid conditions
• Ability to work outdoors or in varying weather conditions as needed
• Capable of climbing ladders and working at heights when required
• Ability to operate or work around equipment such as hoses, lift trucks, and other material handling equipment
• Must be able to perform repetitive physical tasks for the duration of the shift
• Any other duties or tasks as assigned

Education: High School or equivalent, Strong math and analytical skills, Strong verbal & written communication and mathematical skills; must be able to effectively communicate.
