
This position will serve as the Camp Health Manager/Camp Nurse for 4-H Camp Overlook, an overnight summer camp owned and operated by Cornell Cooperative Extension Association of Franklin and St. Lawrence County, located in Owls Head, New York. The primary responsibilities of this position will include, but not be limited to: overseeing the health and safety of campers and staff at 4-H Camp Overlook, ensuring all health care practices are in line with New York State Department of Health and American Camp Association standards and guidelines, and working cooperatively with the Camp Director and Camp Staff to ensure adequate physical health conditions for all staff and camp participants. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned and deemed appropriate by the 4-H Camp Overlook Director. (NOTE: This position does not include cabin responsibilities but could include supervising campers or staff overnight in the infirmary.)

This position is a full-time exempt position, Sunday through Friday. The rate for this position is $600 to $800 per week commensurate on experience.

Job Duties - 95%
1. Provide health care to meet individual needs of campers and staff.
2. Organize, maintain, and utilize adequate resources for serving the health and medical needs of campers and staff.
3. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records according to New York State Department of Health standards.
4. Oversee first aid procedures and supplies.
5. Ensure a staff orientation session is delivered on medical services.
6. Screen all campers and staff who are arriving and departing camp.
7. Supervise sanitation conditions throughout camp.
8. Assist in the overall evaluation of the summer camp season, suggesting modifications that would create more healthful conditions at 4-H Camp Overlook.
9. Perform other duties as assigned and/or reassigned as directed/required by the Camp Director.
