3rd Shift Production Coordinator (Plus $2/hour Shift Differential)

Pay/Schedule
• $24.00/hour - $36/hour depending on experience and qualifications (PLUS $2/hour Shift Differential)
• 3rd Shift: Sunday evening – Friday morning from 10:15pm – 6:15am

Under general supervision and following established procedures, the Production Coordinator is responsible for coordinating activities associated to the timely execution and completion of all manufacturing and distribution processes and assuring delivery requirements are met. The scope of the coordinator’s role includes coordinating timely manufacturing process completion, product quality and shipping requirements, while interfacing with a wide range of Great Northern personnel (i.e.: Design, Prepress, Project Managers, Customer Service, Quality, Machine Operators, Shipping personnel, Supervisors and Managers.)

Assists the 3rd Shift Production Supervisor with providing work direction and overseeing employees, machinery or equipment, work methods, raw materials and work environment in the Manufacturing Department. Investigates and takes prompt action when problems related to manufacturing schedule adherence, safety, product quality, equipment failure or material waste and scrap disrupt planned delivery. Keeps the Production Supervisor informed of such incidents and makes recommendations to prevent similar problems from happening in the future.

All job responsibilities are to be performed in strict adherence with the Company’s Mission/Values Statement and in accordance with established standards for external customers as well as internal customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES SUMMARY

• Manufacturing execution in accordance to our work center schedule and customer expectations.
• Achieve the appropriate work center and/or process performance as defined by performance measurements and goals. The performance expectation would be in concert with customer expectations.
• Provide machine operator feedback, in regard to performance and timely order completion.
• Provide work direction to team members.
• Effectively manage product and/or process quality and non-conformances.
• Initiate process conformance and improvement when needed.
• Works from the most complex verbal or written process/production specifications, instructions, diagrams or models of higher-level technical personnel.
• Provides and maintains an executable production schedule, on a daily basis, to ensure customer expectations are met.
• Follows safe operating procedures and all safety rules and guidelines.
• Selects printing plates or dies, fills ink wells with the required color and adjusts ink flow as required.
• Observes machine operation to detect product defects or machine malfunctions.
• Assists in adjusting settings and controls as required to ensure product meets specifications and quality standards.
• Measures product dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation and performs quality inspection of finished product.
• Counts, stacks, marks, bands and transports finished product to the proper area as directed.
• Performs a wide variety of jobs within plant operations as needed.
• Performs a variety of miscellaneous job-related tasks as may be assigned from time-to-time by a Management Representative.

REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) or two-year industry related technical degree plus 2 – 3 years’ experience and/or equivalent experience.
• 6 to 12 months of Great Northern production work experience preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge and performance in Work Centers responsible for.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with customers, and the ability to convey a positive and professional image of service and support to employees at all levels of responsibility in the Company.
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills required particularly in oral format.
• Ability to read English and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedures, manuals, and order specifications.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages.
• Ability to read a ruler to 1/16th of an inch.
• Ability to apply practical knowledge and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Mechanical and spatial aptitude.
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and quality.
• Enthusiasm, dedication, reliability, and punctuality required.
• Ability to move from one task/assignment on short notice, comfortable in a fast-moving environment.
• Ability to lead and develop team members.
• Ability to delegate responsibility when appropriate.
