Job Description

As a Paint Coordinator at Wabash, you will be responsible for directing the activities of a team of painters. You will also be expected to perform a variety of painting applications and related activities, requiring knowledge of techniques, tools, equipment, and safety precautions. You will be expected to adhere to the general safety plan and perform other duties, including undercoating, as requested by your supervisor. This role typically requires exercising some independent judgment and performing work at a quality level consistent with Wabash's standard practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

B elow are examples of the type of duties you could be responsible for:

  • Coordinating the activities of other painters.
  • To perform a variety of painting applications and painting-related activities requiring knowledge of techniques, tools, equipment, and safety precautions.
  • To adhere to the general safety plan.
  • May be required to do other duties, including undercoating, as requested by the supervisor.
  • Primary job functions typically require exercising some independent judgment.
  • Performs work at a quality level consistent with Wabash National standard practice.
  • Supervised by supervisor, general foreman, manager or department head.
  • Routinely perform workplace organization daily and as needed to maintain a clean, efficient, and safe work environment.

  • Brushes and rollers

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as masks, gloves, and safety glasses
  • Cleaning solvents and materials

  • Air compressors
  • Mixing equipment

Qualifications:

  • Excellent attendance
  • Good leadership. Communication skills is vital
  • Good organizational skills and efficiency in handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective decision-making skills with minimal supervision required
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Enthusiastic, creative and energetic individual with effective oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent computer knowledge and principles are required
  • SAP experience is required

Knowledge, Training, Skills and/or Experience:

Painter experience and education are critical to this position. Additionally, we will provide you additional training to become comfortable in any Paint Coordinator position

Physical Demands:

As a Painter, you are regularly required to stand, walk, lean, push, climb, sit, bend, kneel, stoop, handle and operate tools or controls for the length of their entire shift. The employee needs full range of motion in their arms and hands in this position. All Assembler Coordinator’s must be able to successfully communicate with fellow employees as well. Some Assembler Coordinators also work in small spaces throughout their shift and frequently lift and/or carry objects up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus, along with good hand-eye coordination.
