Job Description

The Assembler Coordinator assists the supervisor in meeting production goals by performing a variety of semi-skilled manual duties, requiring knowledge of techniques, tools, equipment, and safety precautions. The role involves exercising independent judgment and ensuring work is performed at a quality level consistent with Wabash’s standard practice.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

B elow are examples of the type of duties you could be responsible for:

  • Primary duty is to assist supervisor to meet production goals as outlined by the supervisor.
  • Leading a team of hourly employees.
  • To perform a variety of semi-skilled manual duties requiring knowledge of techniques, tools, equipment and safety precautions.
  • To adhere to and enforce the general safety plan.
  • May be required to do other duties as requested by supervisor.
  • Primary job functions require exercising independent judgement.
  • Ensures work is performed at a quality level consistent with Wabash’s standard practice.
  • Good attendance is critical, and coordinator is required to report all absences directly to supervisor.
  • Must be willing and able to work overtime.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Basic reading /writing/ & verbal skills
  • High School degree or G.E.D. equivalent is preferred for this position.
  • Good people skills required.
  • Must have ability to learn and run required computer applications.
  • Possess required math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Must have ability to understand and apply engineering specifications, change orders, and standard operating procedures (SOP).
  • Good problem-solving skills required.
  • Good computer and Microsoft office skills.
  • Willing to become proficient in SAP.

Knowledge, Training, Skills and/or Experience:

Assembler Coordinator experience and education are great to come into this position with. However, it’s not required, here at Wabash, we give you the training to become comfortable in any Assembler Coordinator position. Upon receiving an offer letter from us, you’ll undergo orientation and several days of training, preparing you for the production floor.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibrations. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at job sites such as the noise level in the work environment can be very loud with high temperatures at times. All employees on the production floor must wear the necessary personal production equipment (PPE). Physical Demands:

As an Assembler Coordinator, you are regularly required to stand, walk, lean, push, climb, sit, bend, kneel, stoop, handle and operate tools or controls for the length of their entire shift. The employee needs full range of motion in their arms and hands in this position. All Assembler Coordinator’s must be able to successfully communicate with fellow employees as well. Some Assembler Coordinators also work in small spaces throughout their shift and frequently lift and/or carry objects up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus, along with good hand-eye coordination.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have ability to understand and apply engineering specifications, Change Orders, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Good problem-solving skills required.
  • Must have ability to operate a variety of power tools, hand tools, and manufacturing equipment, and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Requires minimum of eight hours standing, bending, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling with a full range of body mechanics/movements.

Regularly required to lift and carry up to 35 (thirty-five) pounds. Frequently required to lift and carry up to fifty-five (55) pounds. Occasionally required to lift and carry up to seventy-five (75) pounds.

Must be able to work in an environment requiring use of ladder, stairs, heights, platforms and climbing in and out of trailers or working under trailers in tight spaces.

Must have ability to operate a variety of power and hand tools safely, work with compressed air safely, operate fork trucks safely and utilize personal protective equipment (PPE)
