3D Application Developer Intern

The Medical Visualization team in Naples, Florida is responsible for developing interactive applications using emerging technologies for the purpose of educating and assisting surgeons and visually communicating the science behind the medical technology created at Arthrex. We are searching for an intern pursuing a degree in 3D Graphics, Engineering, Computer Science or Interactive Media to support the Medical Visualization team. A successful candidate will assist in the development of art processes, marketing content, upcoming products, and medical education. The individual will follow standards and guidelines for consistent corporate identity and follow pre-established process flows. This internship will run from May 2027 – August 2027. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 40 hours per week at our Naples, FL facility.

Main Objective:

To gain real-world experience as a Realtime 3D Graphics Application Developer in a corporate environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Explore emerging VR and AR technologies and support the development of interactive applications.
  • Maintain and update hardware and software systems, documenting bugs, issues, limitations, and workaround solutions.
  • Evaluate new technologies and investigate alternative approaches to address existing challenges.
  • Assist in the creation and execution of unit, runtime, and behavioral testing procedures.
  • Configure and maintain testing environments to support development and quality assurance activities.
  • Manage digital assets within Unity, Unreal Engine, and content management systems (CMS).

Education and Experience:

  • A college senior or graduate student pursuing a degree in 3D Graphics, Interactive Media, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field required. (Recent graduates must be within six months of their graduation date to qualify.)

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

  • Knowledge of two or more of the following technologies and disciplines required: Unity, Unreal Engine, Autodesk Maya, Visual Studio, Omniverse, Rider, Pixyz, and 3ds Max.
  • Experience with programming, software testing, test automation, scripting, 3D mathematics, 3D graphics, or large language model (LLM) training is required.
  • Be able to follow written and verbal direction.

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

PC; Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook; PowerPoint; Word and Excel. Fax; Scanner.
