POSITION: Lead Mail Room Assistant

FULLTIME/PARTTIME: Temp to Hire
LOCATION: Mesa, AZ
SCHEDULE: 8AM-5PM M-F

Contract Duration: 6/08/2026- 9/08/2026
PAY RANGE: $19.00/HR

Details:

The Lead Mailroom Clerk is responsible for the accurate and timely handling of all incoming, outgoing, and interoffice mail. This role ensures efficient mail operations across departments and branches while maintaining postage accuracy, delivery schedules, and mailroom organization. This position is 100% onsite with no remote or hybrid option.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail to appropriate departments and branch locations
  • Process incoming and outgoing envelopes and packages from carriers such as UPS, FedEx, and USPS
  • Determine correct postage and affix postage using the mail metering machine
  • Maintain accurate records of outgoing mail and postage usage
  • Prepare and stage outgoing mail for end-of-day carrier pickup
  • Serve as a point of contact for mail-related questions and inquiries
  • Assist with ordering, organizing, and storing mailroom supplies
  • Perform minor data entry and respond to mail-related emails as needed
  • Assist with other administrative duties as assigned
  • Perform occasional lifting of boxes weighing 30–50 pounds

Skills:

  • Applies basic job skills with the ability to develop advanced skills related to mailroom operations
  • 1–2 years of experience in a mailroom or similar operational role preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage daily priorities
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to meet daily deadlines

Education:

High School diploma or equivalent

Working Conditions:

  • May on occasion be exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels, such as from office equipment.
  • The ability to lift up to 30lbs.
  • Use of computers and technology
