Maintenance Electrical Technician

Maintenance Department — Searcy, AR

Starting Pay: $25.00 - $30.00/Hour

Shift: 8-hour shifts — 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift, with weekend availability and overtime as needed

Land O'Frost is hiring an experienced Maintenance Electrical Technician at our Searcy AR plant. You'll troubleshoot, repair, and maintain the equipment that produces our lunchmeat and specialty sausage products — keeping the lines running safely and efficiently. No degree required — your hands-on electrical experience is what counts.

This role is built for Electrical technicians who want to keep growing. You’ll work on a wide range of production equipment, sharpen your electrical, controls and PLC troubleshooting skills, and have room to advance to Lead Electrical Technician and, over time, Maintenance Supervisor.

What You'll Do

• Perform preventive and corrective electrical maintenance on production equipment
• Troubleshoot electrical equipment issues, using electrical schematics to find the root cause
• Complete maintenance service requests and work orders, and document all work in our CMMS/work-order system
• Meet with the Maintenance Supervisor to review daily priorities
• Assist with bench repairs and help maintain the spare-parts inventory
• Identify opportunities to reduce equipment variation, downtime, and operating costs
• Recommend process and equipment improvements
• Assist with emergency response situations within the plant
• Follow all safety requirements and wear appropriate PPE
• Follow all food safety, quality, and GMP procedures

What You'll Need

Required

• At least 2 years of electrical maintenance experience
• At least 1 year of industrial electrical experience
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
• Experience using a CMMS/work-order system
• Ability to work weekends and overtime as required
• Good communication with your team and supervisor
• Reliable attendance — the team counts on you being there
• Basic hand tools technician supplied. All other tools supplied by Land O Frost.

Preferred

• Formal electrical training
• Previous industrial or food manufacturing electrical maintenance experience
• Controls and/or PLC troubleshooting experience

Physical Requirements

This is an active, hands-on role in a food production environment. The essential physical functions of this position are:

• Lifting up to 60 lbs: 20% of the time per shift
• Walking: 80% of the time per shift
• Bending and stooping: 80% of the time per shift
• Climbing ladders/Step stools up to 4 feet: 30% of the time per shift
• Working in confined spaces: 0% to 5% of the time per shift
• Must be able to work in temperatures of 32°F to 45°F for extended periods in areas such as cookroom, production floor, freezers and mechanical room
